Mesquite, Nevada, just 80 miles north of Las Vegas, is a growing resort destination in the picturesque Virgin River Valley. Mesquite combines a small-town atmosphere with a multi- faceted array of big-city attractions ranging from 24-hour gaming and fine dining to celebrity entertainment and championship golf.
The modern history of the City of Mesquite began in the mid 1800’s as much of the West was being explored and settled. The Old Spanish Trail and the Mormon Road passed through Mesquite along the Virgin River. The earliest European-American settlements in the region, such as St. George and Las Vegas, sprang up as Mormon outposts at water sources along the trail.
Bryce Canyon
Bryce Canyon National Park is named for just one of many canyons which form a series of horseshoe-shaped amphitheaters on the edge of the Paunsaugunt Plateau in southern Utah. Erosion has carved colorful Claron limestones into thousands of spires, fins, arches and mazes. Collectively called "hoodoos," these unique formations are whimsically arranged and tinted with colors too numerous and subtle to name.
Lake Mohave/Lake Mead National
Recreation Area is located
in southern Nevada and northwestern
Arizona, less than a one-hour drive
from Las Vegas and within a six-hour
drive from Los Angeles and Phoenix.
The Lake Mead NRA contains 1.5 million
acres of federal and non-federal land
and encompasses two reservoirs formed
by the Colorado River: Lake Mead and
Lake Mohave. Lake Mead is formed by
the Hoover Dam and is 110-miles long.
Lake Mohave is 67 miles long and formed
by the Davis Dam.
Zion National Park is one of the gems of the National Park system and one of Utah's most beloved tourist destinations. The park is located in the far southwestern corner of Utah, where the Colorado Plateau meets the mountains and valleys of the Great Basin. The sculptured cliffs of Zion Canyon provide visitors with landscapes of unmatched beauty and diversity.
Arches National Park, Utah contains one of the largest concentrations of natural sandstone arches in the world. The arches and numerous other extraordinary geologic features, such as spires, pinnacles, pedestals and balanced rocks, are highlighted in striking foreground and background views created by contrasting colors, landforms and textures.
